About Our Business

Volt Tek started production in June of 1995. The first insulator produced was our 15kV unit
using EPDM rubber (Catalog Number 1515-00). The second catalog item introduced was the
25kV unit in EPDM rubber in the first quarter of 1996. A 35kV unit was introduced in 1997.
SILICONE rubber has been added to our product line for all voltage sizes.

To date VOLT TEK has manufactured over 3 million units and sold worldwide. We have
supplied units to North America, South America, Australia, Asia and Africa.

All testing of Volt Tek units have been performed at Ontario Hydro in Toronto and Akron
Research Development Laboratory.  The test standards we tested to is the CEA standard
LWIWG-01. This standard is soon to become IEEE 1024.  Besides the LWIWG-01 we have
tested units to IEC standard 1109.  The testing program has qualified both EPDM rubber and
Silicone.

IEC standard 1109 requires a salt fog test of 1000 hours. This standard then states that the
time can be increased to 5000 hours for contaminated areas. We have passed the testing
requirements of our EPDM rubber to 5000 hours without any over current trips. We are the only
one that we know of as a North American Suppliers to have tested units to 5000 hours.

We have chosen our supplier of Silicone rubber formulation from Wacker Rubber Company.
Wacker Rubber has gained an excellent reputation as a supplier of Silicone rubber formulation
for the electrical power industry for over 20 years.

VOLT TEK is proud of its on time performance. We have shipped 95% of orders on time.
We are dedicated to supplying a high quality product on time.
